Babli, played by Ranbir Kapoor, is an orphan and turned into a car thief. His happy go lucky and carefree attitude makes him popular in his community. He falls in love at first sight with Tara, played by Pallavi Sharda after he sees her at a wedding. But she thinks he no match for her and ignores him. Inspector Chulbul, played by Rishi Kapoor and head-constable Bulbul his wife are searching for Babli as he steals a car outside Tara’s office.
Later when he finds out that the car belongs to Tara he offers her to come along with him to Chandigarh. When she finds out that Babli was the one to steal the car she gets infuriated. Babli convinces her that he is doing this for the orphanage and later they steal a car from Chandel and speed off. They find lots of cash belonging to Chandel in the car and decide to keep it for the orphanage but by that time he tracks them down and kidnaps the orphanage children.
They take the money and give it to Chandel and beg to release the children. Just that time Chulbul opens fire and arrests Chandel. Meanwhile Chulbul and Bulbul adopt Babli as their son. The movie is directed by Abhinav Kashyap and produced by Himanshu Mehra and Sanjeev Gupta. The music is composed by Lalit Pandit.
