Dacoit: A Love Story is an upcoming Indian romantic action drama film, directed by Shaneil Deo and co-written by Yash Eshawari and Abburi Ravi. The lead role is played by Adivi Sesh, alongside Mrunal Thakur, Anurag Kashyap and Prakash Raj. The film plays out with a dark, gritty nature, with a degree of emotional complexity and depth, mixing issues of revenge, heartbreak, and inner struggle and is a powerful story about loss, love and the unleashing of revenge.
The story takes place in a brutal, savage, lawless atmosphere and focuses on a deadly convict’s escape from prison based on wrath and revenge. He aims to confront the woman who once loved him, deceived him and left him to rot. As he begins an unrelenting pursuit to meet her, the lines of love versus hate, vengeance versus justice progressively blur into an emotional reparation. What was initially a pursuit of vengeance quickly evolves into an unfathomable emotional context, as the past violently re-emerges and takes control.
Adivi Sesh plays the role of the scorned lover turned revolutionary with a powerhouse performance and multilayered feelings. Mrunal Thakur rounded off the favourite love interest character with her struggle between remorse and survival. Anurag Kashyap as an awful antagonist is appropriately despicable (his last antagonistic role was Mrs. Chatterjee versus Norway). Prakash Raj appears in a crucial supporting role that adds gravitas, and moral ambiguity to the narrative.
With its theatrical release slated for 10th April 2026, Dacoit: A Love Story is sure to be a hit, particularly given the recent buzz after the release of the teaser for the film. Fans of Adivi Sesh took note of the film's haunting scale of visuals, the emotional character arcs, and the gripping action, especially the powerful chemistry between Adivi Sesh and Anurag Kashyap.
