R. plays dual roles, while Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor and Prakash Raj are major stars in this movie. The tale revolves around the powerful sea fighter and revered leader of a beach town, Devara. Devara becomes the icon of justice and terror as a warning of malpractice on the seas. His presence is very much there since the villagers still believe he is watching over them and maintains order. However, his mild-mannered son Varadha secretly continues his father’s mission and pretends to be weak while hiding the truth regarding Devara’s fate. This dual narrative between a mighty father and a son who should step into his legacy forms the most engrossing and emotionally charged story ever.

Saif Ali Khan plays Bhairava, a menacing villain whose actions threaten the peace of the village, setting up high-stakes confrontations. Janhvi Kapoor plays Thangam, bringing emotional depth to the story with her layered performance.
