Late Sridevi may not be amongst us but her in her daughter Janhvi, one can see the legacy she left behind that Janhvi will take forward. She made her Bollywood debut with Ishaan Khatter for the film ‘ Dhadak’ by Shashank Khaitan, which is a remake of the popular Marathi film, ‘Sairat’. The film was released in July 2018 and sadly her mother Sridevi wasn’t alive to see her daughter on the silver screen.
Being a star kid, Janhvi Kapoor was used to being in the limelight, the glitz and the glamour from a very young age. However she also admits that she is getting more than required attention as she is the daughter of the superstar Sridevi and the film producer Boney Kapoor . She hails from the family of film business. Besides her own parents, her paternal uncle Anil Kapoor, cousins, actress Sonam Kapoor and film producer Rhea Kapoor and her half brother Arjun Kapoor to name a few.
The film received lot of appreciation from the audience and the critics as well. Janhvi’s role of Parthvi Singh in the film earned her a lot of accolades and some of the famous personalities like Lata Mangeshkar expressed her desire to sing playback for Janhvi in the film. She also commented that after the sudden death of Sridevi, she wants to sing for her pretty daughter Janhvi . This surely was a huge compliment for the debutant young actress Janhvi Kapoor.
Janhvi as expected took the Bollywood industry by storm in her first film and clearly showed she has inherited the talents of her beautiful mother Sridevi as she has the similar traits and charm. In 2015 Janhvi Kapoor had declined a film offer opposite Mahesh Babu due to the age difference.
Her next film is a biopic on IAF Pilot Gunjan Saxena and is reportedly taking flying lessons to fit into the role. The film is expected to go on floors by March end this year. The story is about Gujan Saxena who was the first female IAF pilot who flew into the combat zone during the 1999 Kargil war and was honoured the Shaurya Chakra. Janhvi hopes to make full justice to the role that is quite challenging for her and will be a milestone in her early film career. She had to gain weight to fit in the character of Gunjan Saxena.
She has also signed up for Karan Johar’s period drama film ‘ Takht’ which has a multi star cast. In the film she will also be working with her paternal uncle Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh , Alia Bhatt , Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar all in a pivotal roles. In this film Janhvi will be seen in a glamorous avatar.
