Ganga Jamna (1961)

The film is set in the rural of North India and tells you the story of two poor brothers Ganga and Jamna played by two real-life brothers respectively, (Dilip Kumar and Nasir Khan) . The boys are raised by their mother Govindi ( Leela Chitnis ). After her death the brothers are close to each other and Ganga takes the responsibility on himself to educate his younger brother Jumna. he sacrifices his love and happiness to enable him to send Jumna for higher studies and to the Police academy. Here in the village due to unforeseen circumstances, Ganga turns against law and becomes a criminal dacoit. The film has the background of the rustic settlers of the dacoits. When Jumna (Nasir Khan) returns to the village as a police officer. He is shocked to know his loyal brother Ganga has become a docoit.. How will the brother confront each other being on the opposite side of the law ?
