"Harom Hara: The Revolt" (2024) is an action drama in Telugu directed by Gnanasagar Dwaraka. The movie takes place in the 1980s in Kuppam and revolves around Subrahmanyam (Sudheer Babu), a talented lab technician whose life becomes drastically different after a brutal college incident. Driven into the perilous arena of weapons, he turns into a notorious gunsmith.

As he climbs the ladder of power, he is pitted against the brutal local lords: "Thammi Reddy" (Lakki Lakshman), Basava Reddy (Ravi Kale), and "Sharath" (Arjun Gowda). Having few friends like his lady love "Devi" (Malvika Sharma) and loyal friend "Palani Saami" (Sunil), Subrahmanyam has to fight his way through a vicious world where deception and violence are the order of the day. As more tensions rise, his struggle becomes a full-fledged war against oppressive forces that rule Kuppam.

The film offers a bleak and realistic portrayal of power struggles, revenge, and survival in desperate times. Gnanasagar Dwaraka combines gritty action with poignant locations, putting audiences in the realm of 1980s violence.

"Harom Hara: The Revolt" wins on action and drama, but it is not for the faint hearted. The film is filled with endless violence, heart-stopping action sequences, and graphic confrontations. Heads spin, bullets fly, and bloodletting never lets up, so it's a treat for action movie purists. But slow panning rags-to-riches narrative somewhat takes away from the impact. Flawed though it is, “Harom Hara” is a raw action tale that manages to survive because of its raw energy and strong performances.
