Synopsis

The story of the movie Hawayein is set in the aftermath of the assassination of former Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi in 1984. The country was also going through a crisis due to the Sikh genocide in Delhi as well as other places. People in Punjab were victimized and suffering due to the wide spread unrest. The film’s central character is Sarabjeet, who has seen the worse in the country and it depicts real life events. Sarabjit turns from an innocent, music-loving boy to a most wanted terrorist. The film portrays the rebellion of the Punjabi youth and the struggle of their families over the years. The movie is directed by Ammtoje Mann and produced by Nippy Dhanoa. The music is composed by Babbu Mann. The star cast includes Ammtoje Mann, Baboo Mann, Anandi Tripathi, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Ram Vij, Mukul Dev, Mukesh Tiwari, Tom Alter, Ahmed Khan, Ashish Duggal, Amrik Gill, Ravi Jhankal, Gursewak Mann, Rimpy Gi and Kamini Kaushal. The music is composed by Babbu Mann. The cinematography is by Nazir Khan and Remo, Poni Verma. The screenplay is written by Ammtoje Mann.
