Humjoli (1970)

This is a Bollywood drama film directed by T.R.Ramanna, produced by Prasan Kapoor under the banner of Trimurti Pictures starring Jeetendra- Leena Chandavarkar, and is a remake of the Tamil movie Panakkara Kudumbam(1964) and later was made in Telugu and Kannada . In a small village a man named Gopalnath(Pran) dreams of becoming a rich man and his dreams are fulfilled when he agrees to marry a very simple girl Roopa (Purnima) who is the sole inheritor of her father’s wealth . She gives birth to a baby girl Ranibala (Leena Chandavarkar). Gopinath arranges to kill Roopa and marry the girl Shyama(Shashikala) whom he is in love with. He decides to send Ranibala to the hostel. Years later the past comes back haunt and his daughter’s suitor decides to leave no stone unturned to blackmail Gopalnath for his wrong doings.
