Kesari is a very strong historical war film. Anurag Singh directed this intense movie. The main star is Akshay Kumar. The title Kesari means "Saffron" in English. The film tells the story of the very brave Battle of Saragarhi. It is an epic tale of extreme courage and duty.
The movie shows the events before and during the battle. This huge fight took place in 1897. It was fought in a far-off outpost called Saragarhi. The British Indian Army had a group called the 36th Sikh Regiment. Only 21 Sikh soldiers were stationed at the post. They faced a massive force of around 10,000 Pashtun tribesmen. The odds were heavily stacked against the small Sikh force.
The leader of the 21 soldiers was Havildar Ishar Singh. He knew that help would not come in time. He and his men chose to stand and fight. They decided to protect their post and their honour. The soldiers fought with incredible bravery. They held off the huge enemy attack for many hours. They knew they would die, but they did not run. They showed ultimate sacrifice for their duty.
This film is a powerful tribute to Indian military history. It shows the true meaning of courage and faith. The movie focuses on extreme commitment. It asks viewers to respect this sacrifice. Audiences should watch this for the amazing battle scenes. It is an inspiring story of unmatched bravery against impossible odds.
