Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira (2025) is a Malayalam romantic comedy drama directed by Althaf Salim, known for blending heartfelt emotion with light humour. The film shares a writing team of Althaf Salim and Anuraj O.B. and is produced under a new and colourful production house that specialises in new-age, youthful stories with emotional weight. The film has an exciting cast, including principal cast members Fahadh Faasil, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Revathi Pillai, and many supporting cast members, including Dhyan Sreenivasan, Vinay Forrt, and Lal, in some strong supporting roles.

The story is about a man, Aby, who was left at the altar on his wedding day. Alone, ashamed, and humiliated, Aby takes a path of least resistance in life, which accidentally results in him meeting Amala, a quiet woman struggling with her own emotional landscape. As Aby spends time with Amala, he takes delight in unintentionally helping her deal with her problem, and for him, as an act of renewal, he also finds purpose and renewal in his life. The film delicately explores themes of second chances, emotional healing and the kindness of connections created in unexpected moments.

Fahadh Faasil impressively plays Aby with his familiar tones of vulnerability and charm. Simultaneously making his heartbreak and poignancy equally funny and relatable. Kalyani Priyadarshan portrays Amala in a restrained and layered performance, combining moments of sorrow with moments of joy with a semblance of believability in how she can separate her emotions. Revathi Pillai shines in a lively and spirited supporting role. Each actor adds depth to their character, and this mix makes the emotional changes feel real and honest.

Released on August 29, 2025, just in time for Onam, Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira promises laughter, warmth and reflection. The movie's light and often playful tone, along with its emotional depth, show that new beginnings are possible and that connections made through our experiences with other people can be magical.
