Raveendran Thampi struggles to understand his mother Subhadramma Thankachi's animosity against him as a widow. As a result, he develops an alcohol addiction, and while driving drunk, he kills Madhavan, a worker at a family-owned factory, in a vehicle accident. As a result of his sentencing, he meets Krishnan, a fellow prisoner, who informs him of the horrible truth: He is actually Rajasekharan Thampi's grandson and the heir to the family riches. The patriarch's sister Subhadramma had traded her own son Sukumaran Thampi for Raveendran in order for him to inherit the wealth. This revelation breaks Raveendran's heart, and he swears vengeance on the lady who destroyed his family and was responsible for the deaths.
