Prem Shakti (1994)

Ganga and Gauri love each other and want to marry but are forbidden to. They are asked to separate but the lovers elope and reach a den of an evil tantric who is forcing the Lord of the snakes into giving him the gem that will make him immortal. The lovers see the struggle of the snake and save him thus thwarting the tantric’s plan. This event would have only happened this one night of the full moon, which is once in 25 years. The angry tantric then curses the lovers and turns Gauri into stone. Ganga unable to bear the pain of his lover’s plight dies. The snake blesses them with rebirth. After 25 years the lovers come back and meet. However the tantric remembers them too. The movie is directed by Shibu Mitra and produced by Nasir Parkar. The music is composed by Ram Laxman and the lyrics are written by Dev Kohli and Ravindra Rawal. The story is written by Juthika Mittra. The star cast includes Govinda, Karishma Kapoor, Nitish Bhardwaj, Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Puneet Issar, Raza Murad, Sameer Khakhar, Viju Khote, Nila, Tiku Talsania and Sulbha Deshpande.
