"Psycho” is a Tamil-language psychological thriller of 2020, which is directed by Mysskin and produced under Double Meaning Production. Udhayanidhi Stalin, Nithya Menen, Aditi Rao Hydari and Rajkumar Pitchumani are part of the, acting as a bad guy in it.
“Gautham” is a blind musician, who falls in love with “Dagini”, an RJ. He tries to tell her for years but never agrees to meet him. She finally decides to meet him one day. On her way to the meeting place, she gets kidnapped by a serial killer who had killed 13 women before her. He arrives too late to arrange the meeting, but in some manner, he intuits that something is wrong. Falsely accused, no way to prove his innocence. The police are baffled and question him the day after he learns of the body.
Knowing now that he can’t rely on the police to help, Gautham decides to take the matter into his own hands and rescue Dagini. Joining him is Kamala, an ex-cop turned community organizer with a disability, and as a duo, they begin to follow the killer’s pattern. When Dagini is imprisoned, she doesn’t show any fear but taunts the serial killer in turn that Gautham will catch up with her one way or another. The killer, intrigued by her confidence, delays his usual pattern of murder.
A tense final confrontation brings him to the hideout of the killer just before Dagini is actually going to be executed. He outwits the killer and saves her. The killer requests love and mercy instead of fighting. Gautham learns that inside this killer lay several deep wounds. He finds sympathy in the heart of Dagini, suggesting that Dagini believed that love could have changed him back into a human being.
In the end, the killer kills himself, realizing his wrongdoings. The movie touches on the extent of human feelings, pain and redemption.
"Psycho" received great reviews and did well at the box office. The movie is now available on Netflix for streaming.
