Varanasi is an upcoming Telugu action-adventure film. It is directed by the visionary S. S. Rajamouli (RRR). Produced by Sri Durga Arts, it is the most expensive Indian film ever, with a budget over ₹1,000 crore ($120M). The cast comprises the likes of Mahesh Babu, who is the leading actor of Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is the hero of the film.
A thrilling, worldwide adventure that is deeply entwined with Indian culture and destiny is the storyline. The story revolves around the protagonist, Rudhra, who has to undergo a world trip as part of his high-risk mission. The main idea is the strength of Indian morals and divine motivation, demonstrating how the hero struggles to protect the world from a huge threat.
Mahesh Babu is taking up a double part: the contemporary Rudhra and the divine Lord Rama at the same time. Priyanka Chopra is playing the central role, that is, Mandakini. The antagonist, Kumbha, is portrayed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. It is said that the character Rudhra had begun his journey of wisdom through the famous Varanasi ghats before setting off on his global adventure.
This grand spectacle is expected to have a very big worldwide release in 2027 in IMAX format. The movie is going to be made available in five different languages: Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The audience will be treated to a massive visual delight, non-stop intense action, and a very emotional story of fate and sacrifice on a truly global level.
