Junglee Pictures' critically acclaimed film, HAQ, is set to step onto the global platform with a special screening at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025 in Goa. The film, directed by Suparn S Varma and produced by Junglee Pictures, will be showcased on November 22nd during the festival, which runs from November 20th to 28th.


Since its theatrical release, HAQ has garnered widespread appreciation for its bold and timely narrative, and its selection for IFFI now elevates these important conversations to an international stage.


The film revolves around complex themes of religion, justice, faith, identity, and law, specifically tackling the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) under Article 44. Starring Emraan Hashmi as Abbas Khan and Yami Gautam Dhar as Shazia Bano, the movie is described as more than just a film; it is a profound journey exploring women’s rights, human dignity, and the complexities surrounding the UCC, all unfolding within a courtroom drama.


Hashmi and Gautam Dhar have earned immense praise for delivering some of their most nuanced and layered performances to date, anchoring one of the boldest on-screen narratives in recent Indian cinema. Written by Reshu Nath, HAQ also features strong supporting roles from Sheeba Chaddha, Danish Hussain, Aseem Hattangady, and debutante Vartika Singh. The film is currently running successfully in theatres.
