The film Varanasi is a much-anticipated film of the recent times with Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in the lead roles, has officially locked its release date for April 2027. Directed by S.S. Rajamouli the release will  be coincide with the Hindu New Year, Gudi Padwa.   

The release date announcement has further garnered excitement as its after a long hiatus the actress will be back in a cinema in India. The reason for the date 7th April 2027 for the release is it has couple of occasions which falls in that week with an extended series of holidays, marking Ambedkar Jayanti , Ram Navami, Gudi Padwa . The more interesting part of Varanasi is, its being released in multiple languages simultaneously. 

Varanasi has generated the buzz with the audience around and for the first time Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Mahesh Babu will share the screen space which is expected to be as one of the high-octane fantasy action thriller and adventure drama. 

Varanasi is also making a history with its technical format that it is the first Indian film and the first non-English film to have been shot in 1.43:1 IMAX format which underlines S.S. Rajamouli’s dream to deliver the film in an immersive cinematic experience on a global scale.

Adding to the excitement of the release date of Varanasi, the film boasts an impressive technical team with M M Keeravani composing the music. Mohan Bingi to handle the production design. P S Vinod directing the photography Bikkina Thammiraju is editing and V Srinivas Mohan will oversee the visual effects. 

Prithviraj Sukumaran plays a pivotal role in the narrative of the film which boasts of an impressive start to the project.  While the makers are keeping the plot under wraps the first look of the poster has unveiled the title launch with the film’s three principal characters !!   

Priyanka to essay the role of Mandakini while Prithviraj Sukumaran will appear as Kumbha and Mahesh Babu as Rudra. The characters revealed offered a glimpse into the mystical and larger than life world that the film portrays and aims to explore. 

The powerhouse star cast with Rajamouli helmed film Varanasi is expected to be one of the biggest theatrical events of 2027 which sets the expectations very high well ahead of its release !!
