Salma Pe Dil Aa Gaya (1997)

The story of the movie revolves around two lovers who are from 2 different Pathan tribes living along the border of the country. When the people of their respective tribes come to know of the love affair of the couple, they are enraged and refuse to allow this. For them loving someone from the other tribe is bad enough and a marriage is considered a sin. Both tribes then reach a war like situation. The lovers left with no choice elope and go far away to make their dreams come true. However the sardars are closing in on them. They then take shelter with a holy man called Shah Sahab, who is compassionate and believes in love and harmony. It is him who brings the lovers together with his blessings. The movie is directed and produced by Saawan Kumar. The music is composed by Adesh Shrivastava and the lyrics are written by Majrooh Sultanpuri and Sawan Kumar Tak. The screenplay is written by Bharat B Bhalla. The cinematography is by S G Kabra, Co. The star cast includes Ayub Khan, Milind Gunaji, Saadhika, Shashikala, Tiku Talsania, Shiva, Kiran Kumar, Pran, Mukesh Khanna and Mohan Joshi.
