Shubh Mangal Saavdhan a 2017 comedy drama film directed by R. S. Prasanna and is produced by Aanand L. Rai. Starring Ayushmann Khurana and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead role. The film is a remake of the Tamil film Kalyana Samayal Saadham of 2013.
The film is about Mudit Sharma (Ayushmann Khurrana) a boy from Gurgaon holding a marketing job. He falls in love with Sugandha Joshi (Bhumi Pednekar) . A boy who is shy by nature does not know how to propose to her so sends her an online proposal which she accepts and they finally meet . Both are in love with each other and would like to take their relationship to the next level .
Incidentally once when Sugandha and Mudit try to get intimate in bed , Mudit is visibly uncomfortable and she realizes he has a problem having an intercourse or suffers impotency. Both of them try to solve the problem in several ways but are not successful and Mudit comes to face the reality and cancels his marriage with Sugandha. Deeply in love with Mudit she tells him she will wait for him to get married. Eventually the couple get married and much to their embarrassment under the watchful eyes of both their relatives who are edged by this fact and are expectantly waiting for their marriage to consummate.. However, it doesn’t happen on their wedding night or during the comedy and the film takes on to some comic scenes. Mudit understands the meaning of reaching manhood and stands up for the love of his life and one fine day it suddenly happens when the whole family is busy in midst of prayers and poojas!!
