The Accidental Prime Minister, a biographical film to be released in 2019 directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte and written by Mayank Tiwari is based on the memoirs of Sanjaya Baru with the same name by Bohra Bros under the Rudra Productions UK in association with Jayantilal Gada for Pen India Limited. Starring in the film as leading role of Manmohan Singh is actor Anupam Kher , the economist and politician who served our country as the Prime Minister 2004 and 2014. The film released on 11th January 2019 received a lot of negative reviews from the film critics and earned a moderate opening at the Box office on it’s first day..
The film is an interesting memoire by Indian policy analyst Sanjaya Baru. The Accidental Prime Minister goes on to explore during Manmohan Singh’s tenure as the Prime Minister and the kind of control he had over his cabinet.
