The Wishing Tree (2017)

The 6000 year old wishing tree has been standing alone and fragile with no one coming close to it for many years. No one has even asked for a wish yet. On the other side of the city, a girl called Nikita, is battling being overweight. Her woes never to seem to end and when they get unbearable, she escapes into a dense forest. There she meets a gypsy woman who tells her about the burning forests and choked rivers of our planet. This has a deep impact on Nikita about the impending natural disasters. She is then told of the wishing tree and her life is also enjoined by four others like Dhanua, Sean, Guriqbal and Fatima. Meanwhile the wishing tree comes back to life. The film is directed by Manika Sharma and produced by Raajaysh Chetwal. The music is composed by Sandesh Shandilya. The story is written by Manika Sharma and the cinematography is by Rajiv Jain. The star cast includes Makrand Deshpande, Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bhattacharya,Jayati Bhatia,Varsha Agnihotri,Rajit Kapoor,Saurabh Shukla,Raj Zutshi,Vrajesh Hirjee,Vineet Sharma,Aditya Manghani,Mark Shaw,Aabhas Yadav,Amita Nangia,Navneet Nishan, Manmeet Singh,Shernaz Patel, Shivani Joshi, Shipra Kasana, Harshpreet Kaur and Sima Raj.
