Lalita and Janki are sisters who are brought up in a close knit family. Both the sisters fall in love with Ram who is their mutual friend. Meanwhile Ram and Lalita start seeing each other but as soon as she learns that her sister Janki too loves Ram, she gets out of her way and marries a horrible and good- for-nothing man. Janki and Ram and confused and furious over Lalitha’s this step. She then moves away to far away city and is not in contact with her sister or Ram. Meanwhile Ram and Janki get married. Ram one day runs into Lalita after many years and comes to know that she is working hard and bringing up her son alone. Ram then comes to know that he is the father of Lalitha’s son and is torn between his wife and Lalita and his son. When Janki comes to know of Ram meeting Lalita, she suspects that he is cheating on her. A pregnant Janki then feels guilty on knowing the truth and gives birth to a baby girl and passes away from childbirth. The film is directed by K Rao and
produced by D Rama Naidu. The music is composed by Bappi Lahiri. The star cast includes Jeetendra, Sridevi, Jayaprada, Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Mohan Choti, Jagdeep, Urmila Bhatt, Leela Mishra and Aruna Irani.
