Aamir Khan Productions To Develop An Inspiring Documentary On The Extraordinary Life Of President Droupadi Murmu

The documentary is expected to explore various phases of President Murmu’s life, tracing back to her remarkable rise from a small village in Odisha to becoming the highest constitutional authority in India.  Svati Chakravarty Bhatkal the acclaimed filmmaker and writer aims to present an in-dept achievements, struggles and the milestones achieved by Murmu which would be an inspiring path for the audience.

The documentary on Murmu’s life will show case the resilience, her determination and her perseverance, her personal hardships that will be highlighted and how she has overcome adversities and challenges to emerge as one of the most respected leaders of our nation. 

The project marks a reunion of Aamir Khan Productions and Director Svati Chakravarty Bhatkal. 

Aamir Khan and Svati had collaborated earlier on the much-acclaimed documentary anthology Rubaru Roshni in 2019. If this new upcoming project on Droupadi Murmu’s is confirmed it will add another compelling real-life story of Murmu’s native village, the key elements from her childhood, her early life recreated by actors.  The documentary will aim to provide the audience a closer look to the experiences that shaped up one of the greatest leaders of our country and the journey that will inspire millions across the country. 

The project jointly by Bhatkal and Aamir Khan will have a new portfolio added to the socially relevant and impactful content.

Meanwhile Aamir Khan Productions is busy with the promotions of Batwara 1947 starring Sunny Deol in the lead, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, to be slated for its release in the theatres on August 14th, 2026.
