Aarya Director Ram Madhvani To Helm A Series Based On Jallianwala Bagh Massacre

After his Emmy nominated series Aarya starring Sushmita Sen, filmmaker Ram Madhvani is all set to bring another incredible story to the audience. He will direct a series that will tell the story of the unfortunate Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Titled ‘The Waking of a Nation’, it will tell the horrific incident that occurred on 13th April 1919. 

 

Talking about the series Ram said, “It's a six-part or seven-part series, which is going to talk about the commission, so it's a bit like a court case, but it also talks about what happened, what led to it and what happened after it, which I think is as important as what happened on the day. Because, why did Jallianwala Bagh happen' And I think a lot of us don't know why it happened - we know what happened, but what led to it.” 

 

The Waking of a Nation is currently in the scripting stage and it will be ready in a couple of months. Madhvani is currently busy gearing up for the release of his next film Dhamaka starring Kartik Aaryan.
