The Cyclone Tauktae that made its way from Kerala and Goa, hit Mumbai badly a few days back. It caused immense destruction of trees and property. One among these is the film set of the Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan. The sports drama was to be shot there for the next 15 days or so after the lockdown like restrictions were eased hopefully by May end. But all those plans by producer Boney Kapoor and director Amit Ravindernath Sharma fell flat in the last 2-3 days. A source revealed, “There were about 40 people on the set when the cyclone hit the 'Maidaan' set- the guards and the curators of the football ground which largely comprises the set. They tried their best to save as much as they could but their efforts proved almost totally futile.”

Maidaan is a sports drama based on the life of the late football player Syed Abdul Rahim. The film also stars Gajraj Rao and South beauties Priyamani and Keerthy Suresh.
