Ajay Devgn’s Directorial Mayday Inspired From The 2015 Doha-Kochi Flight Incident

Bollywood star Ajay Devgn is achieving great feats with every film subject that he chooses. His last film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior was lucky to have released on the big screens and was one of the highest grossing films. The actor will now be making his debut as a director with Mayday. He will also be starring in it along with Rakul Preet Singh and Amitabh Bachchan.  Little was known about the film till this point but now it has been revealed that the film is based on true events that took place in the 2015 Doha-Kochi flight. 


On 18th August 2015, a Jet Airways flight carrying 141 passengers and eight crew members found it hard to land in Kochi airport due to poor visibility thus was diverted to Trivandrum which equally low visibility. The flight finally landed somehow but had a close shave with death. The film will hit the big screens in 2022. Most of the film’s shooting is completed except the Doha schedule, which has been postponed due to the pandemic situation.
