Bollywood actors Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha have added another feather to their cap by joining as producers on the upcoming Indo-French co-production Secrets of a Mountain Serpent.
The film, directed by acclaimed French filmmaker Julien Templon, is set to premiere at the prestigious Venice Film Festival 2025.
The film explores the intersection of myth, indigenous knowledge, and environmental destruction in the Himalayan region. It blends fantasy and folklore through a gripping narrative that centers around a mysterious serpent spirit tied to the fate of a tribal community.
Ali and Richa, who run their production banner Pushing Buttons Studios, said in a joint statement that they are proud to be part of a story that resonates deeply with themes of ecology, spirituality, and indigenous identity. They also praised the film’s bold vision and unique storytelling.
The couple has previously produced projects like Girls Will Be Girls, which also made waves at international festivals. Their decision to back Secrets of a Mountain Serpent underlines their growing influence in the independent and global cinema space.
The film will premiere in the Orizzonti section at Venice, known for spotlighting innovative and socially conscious cinema.
