Alia Bhatt Fights Domestic Violence In Her Own Way In Darlings Trailer

Making her debut as a producer, mommy-to-be Alia Bhatt has unveiled the trailer of her maiden production Darlings. The film depicts a serious topic of domestic abuse with little shades of comedy. The trailer begins with Alia Bhatt’s character along with Shefali Shah, who plays her mother, reporting her husband missing. Glimpses of her suffering domestic abuse at the hands of her husband played by Vijay Varma are shown. The mother-daughter duo then kidnap and torture him while reporting him missing to the police. 

Speaking of producing Darlings under her banner Eternal Sunshine Productions, Alia in a statement said, “Darlings holds a very special place in my heart, it’s my first film as producer that too with Red Chillies. We are very proud and happy how the film has shaped up and we hope it will entertain and engage audiences world over.” Darlings is directed by Jasmeet K Reen and will stream on Netflix on 5th August 2022.
