Actor Arjun Kapoor recently opened up about his mental health journey. He spoke about the struggles with obesity and the pressures of sudden fame . He spoke to the FICCI Young Leaders Summit held in Mumbai. The actor had stressed on the importance of normalizing therapy and viewing the vulnerability as strength more than a weakness. That its not wrong to be depressed , one has to give as much to overcome and work on the therapy to convert it to your strengths.

Arjun Kapoor opened up on his lowest moments reflecting on his turning point , his highs and lows . He revealed about the pandemic days which dawned upon him as a moment of realization. He decided to go in for the therapy as he hadn’t taken care of himself for over a decade and it was about time he concentrated on his mental health as well.
He recalled that he had lost his mother Mona Shourie Kapoor in 2012 just before the release of his debut film Ishaqzaade. He was still in mourning and celebrating his debut at the same time. The actor admitted, he had become a star overnight but he was only then trying to run away from the pain of losing his mother.
The actor discussed on him losing his obesity . It took him four years to lose 50 kgs . His battle was mental as well as a physical one. But he had the support of his mother and not many people have that kind of emotional and financial support . He went on to say what does one do when you lose your backbone at 25 ? What can the world do to you?

Arjun Kapoor encouraged youngsters to seek therapy.
Arjun during his talks has urged young people to prioritise on mental health and seek therapy if needed without any shame . He went on to emphasize the need to do that and there’s nothing wrong with seeking help instead of being vulnerable. He also added that strongest people are those who acknowledge their emotions. He further stated the therapy provides a safe outlet for expression and helps individuals who feel empowered and sensible.
Arjun Kapoor ended the session by encouraging the audience to wear their emotions with pride and embrace vulnerability as a sign of courage , encouraging to come out with their emotions with pride and that it is still powerful.
Arjun Kapoor was last seen in the film Mere Husband Ki Biwi which was released earlier this year and had grossed with a worldwide box office and is also gearing up for his next venture and will be seen in the movie, ‘No Entry 2’.
