12th Fail has been released in the theatres with a really good opening at the box office. The response from the audience has been overwhelming with positive reviews. The movie stars Vikrant Massey in the lead and is based on the real-life story of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma.

As per the reports of trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the movie has managed to earn 1.10 crore in the country. In the tweet posted by Taran he mentioned "After a lacklustre start in the morning shows, #12thFail witnessed an upward trend during the course of the day... Evening shows saw a turnaround thanks to the strong word of mouth... Biz needs to multiply on Day 2 and 3 to cover lost ground... Fri Rs 1.10 cr. #India biz,".

As per Sanclink analysis 12th Fail may earn around 1.75 crore on its second day. On 28th October 12th fail had an overall 13.74% occupancy for Hindi language shows.

The Mirzapur fame actor Vikrant Massey had talked about the opportunity of working on 12th fail in an interview he said, "The movie is very typical Vidhu Vinod Chopra movie which is based on hard reality and is a very hard-hitting film. The role was very challenging. I had to lose weight and darken my skin. Medha Shankar also plays a pivotal role in the film. Vidhu Vinod Chopra shot a major chunk of the film's portion in the real-life locations of Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi. Talking about the film, Vidhu Vinod Chopra said in a statement, "In today's times, I wanted to tell a story of hope, a story of never giving up. 12th Fail is all that and more. I laughed, cried, sang along, and had fun making this movie. I truly believe that this film will find a universal connect when it comes out in theatres."

Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra the story of  “12th Fail” revolves around the life struggles of UPSC aspirants. The story features Vikrant Massey playing real-life IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma in his struggling days. 12th Fail is set to be an inspiring movie.
