Riteish Deshmukh received an overwhelming response and a warm welcome during his visit to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk in Latur.  Thousands of people gathered to catch a glimpse of Riteish Deshmukh in the moment that reflected pure emotional moment with pride and connect.


It had a powerful homecoming atmosphere with nearly 700 bikers accompanying the actor through the city procession as the massive crowds lined up on both sides cheering and celebrating his arrival in their city.  


More than the scale of the gathering, there was no formal event or staged spectacle it was just people showing up out of genuine love for someone they consider as one among them.  Deep rooted in Maharashtra, son of the soil, Riteish’s bond with people is visible and every chant and every moment shared at the chowk saw a close connect between the actor and the people of Latur.

Raja Shivaji had a historical opening at the box office on the first day of its release.  The film had opened up on thunderous note with a collection of Rs. 12.40 crore at the box office rampage with an impressive second day collection of 11.50 crore taking the total to a whooping 23.90 crore net. 


The reviews by critics across Marathi and Hindi languages have unanimously appreciated this cinematic tribute to the legendary warrior of King Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. 


Set to scale even greater heights the film is presented by Jio Studios. Raja Shivaji, a is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh in coordination with Mumbai Film Company Production. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been released in world wide cinemas on May 1st 2026 in two languages, Marathi and Hindi namely, bringing to life and epic that celebrates the Indian History with its pride, soul and spectacle.
