Chhava Trailer Ignites Outrage Over Omission Of Hindavi And Sambhaji Raje's Dance

Laxman Utekar’s much-anticipated historical drama, Chhaava trailer has ignited fury amongst history enthusiasts and some audiences.

This group of people reacted to the absence of the word Hindavi in dialogue inspired by the real quoted by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s saying, “He Hindavi Swaraj Vhave He Shrinchi Ichaa”  which means This Hindavi Swarajya is the divine will. In the trailer the dialogue was shortened to merely “He Rajya Vhave.”

 The word Hindavi, which signifies the inclusive and unified identity of Swarajya, has been of cultural significance and hence it's omission has caused ripples.

Also some purists have objected Sambhaji Raje was shown dancing in the trailer and have condemned the film makers to have added Bollywood touch to a historical saga. As per their belief Sambhaji was a king and a warrior and a protector of Dharma, not someone who danced for entertainment, which is a disrespect to his legacy.
