Deepika Padukone Demands Pay Parity While Alia Bhatt Offers To Work For Free In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Project

While SLB has successfully completed 25 years in the industry, he is stepping into another space soon. The filmmaker is all set to make his digital debut with the web series Heeramandi. The series will be one of a kind which documents the life and story of courtesans in Pakistani Lahore. Interestingly, actress Alia Bhatt who has recently worked with Bhansali in Gangubai Kathiawadi was so moved by the story and plot of the series that she requested him for any role be it small or big and she would do it for free. Bollywood’s number 1 actress ready to take up a role for 0 fees has come has a huge surprise for many. This shows the kind of understanding and trust the actress has for SLB’s work. 

 

The Padmaavat filmmaker however has refused Alia’s offer and said if he does take her on board she will be paid her deserving fees. Meanwhile Deepika Padukone was in the news recently for refusing to do Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra for a lesser amount than the lead actor and her husband Ranveer Singh. Heeramandi is Sanjay’s most ambitious project that also stars Sonakshi Sinha.
