We want to congratulate Deepika padukone and director Meghna Gulzar for helming such a brave and tabooed subject in India on acid attack. Chhapaak is a biopic based on the story of Laxmi Agarwal, an acid attack victim from New Delhi. Vikrant Massey will play the boyfriend of Malti, played by the Padmaavat actress.
Deepika was so touched by the struggles and life of Laxmi that the Bajirao Mastani actress has decided to even co-produce it. Meghna Gulzar who’s last direction Raazi was a super hit has been widely commended for starting such a daring and empowering project. The exciting project starts shoot today and will be releasing on 10th January 2020.
