Dev-Prosenjit Rituparna's Special Appeal To CM To Save Bengali Cinema

The Bengali film industry is sinking! Tollywood stars reached the Chief Minister's doorstep in distress. For several years, Bengali films have been repeatedly overshadowed by the rise of Hindi cinema. Despite doing well in business, Bengali films have been removed from the halls. In this situation, Dev, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Srijit Mukherjee, and Kaushik Gangopadhyay have written a letter to the Bengali Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee.

Dev's Bengali Film Clashes With Hrithik's Hindi Film

Dev-Subhashree starrer 'Dhumketu' is going to be released on August 14. Hrithik starrer 'War 2' is rolling at the same time. Hindi film distributors have stipulated that Bengal has to give them four shows on a single screen. Bollywood is not willing to share the slot with Dev in any way. In such a situation, Dev has fallen into a dark hole.

This time, Tollywood actors, directors, and producers all came together to get rid of this situation. They sent a letter to Mamata Banerjee requesting that she save Bengali films. Everyone signed the letter. According to reports, Arup Biswas has called a meeting in Nandan on August 7 regarding this matter.

Bumba Da Will Be Present In The Special Meeting

However, Prosenjit Chatterjee will not be able to attend this meeting. Since he is out of town, he has said that he will join this meeting via video call. However, Rituparna Sengupta has also expressed her anger in this regard. She has questioned why Bengali cinema is consistently overshadowed by Hindi or South films. The actress has therefore appealed to the Chief Minister to solve this problem as soon as possible and save Bengali cinema.
