Punjabi superstar and Bollywood actor Diljit Dosanjh has been roped in for Rishab Shetty’s much-awaited prequel, Kantara Chapter 1.
The announcement has created a stir among fans as Dosanjh joins the acclaimed franchise that won both critical acclaim and box office success.
Sharing his excitement, Diljit said, “I have a personal connection with this story. The themes, the roots, and the emotions resonate deeply with me. I am honoured to be a part of Rishab Shetty’s vision for Kantara.”
Rishab Shetty, who directed and headlined the first Kantara, is returning to lead the film, which explores the origins of the folklore and mystical traditions depicted in the blockbuster. With Dosanjh’s addition, the film is expected to gain an even wider audience, appealing not just to Kannada cinema lovers but also fans across Punjab, Bollywood, and beyond.
Produced under Hombale Films, Kantara Chapter 1 has been described as one of the most ambitious projects currently in development. The makers promise breathtaking visuals, rooted storytelling, and a strong cultural essence.
