Biography

Rishab Shetty made his debut with Tugalk in 2012 following by his important role in Ulidaru Kandante in 2014 . He made his directorial debut with Ricky in 2015 and Kirik Party which was a commercial success. 

He has been a successful actor and director since then. Rishab has appeared in Bell Bottom in 2019, Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana in 2021, Kantara in 2022, and is one of the highest grossing films. He won the National Film Award for his pivotal role in the film. Shetty has directed Sarkari Hi. Pra, Shaale, Kasargodu Koduge Ramanna Rai which was a critically acclaimed film and had won him the National Film Award for Best Children’s Film category. 

Rishab had briefly appeared in Mishan Impossible and Hrikathe Alla Girikante in the year 2022.  The films were his Telugu debut, followed by Shetty collaborated with Hombale Films the film Kantara which is directed by him and he is also the lead actor in the film. The film was initially released only in Kannada and later dubbed in few other languages.  After the film went on to be very successful and was the second highest grossing film of the all times worldwide, it won the 54th IFFI in 2023 and also won the IFFI Special Jury Award.

Rishabh Shetty is the lead for the star cast in the film Kantara Chapter 1 alongside of Sapthami Gowda ,Rukmini Vasant, Gulshan Devaiah , Jayaram to name a few. The film is slated for its release in October 2025. The film Kantara: Chapter 1 is more of a mythological action-drama film as the story delves with the origins of the divine traditions and the ancestral conflict. Directed by Rishab Shetty and the film is produced by Vijay Kirangandur un the production house Hombale Films. Kantara: Chapter 1 is set in pre colonial coastal side of Karnataka and is expected to explore the ancient roots of the Bhuta Kola with the mythological rituals surrounding the divine land.
