The project has expanded its scale after the team decided on the extraordinary life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who deserved a much larger cinematic canvas.
Directed by Sandeep Singh the film’s chronicle is based on the remarkable journey, the achievements and the leadership of the legendary Maratha warrior king which will be showcased across in two parts. The first instalment is scheduled to hit the theatres in 2028 and the second part will be arriving in the theatres in 2029 as the story of Shivaji will be told in greater depth and details.
The project is already generating significant buzz
Due to the reported budget, the project has created enough buzz making it one of the most expensive Indian films ever mounted in the recent times. A major portion of the film is going to be shot in different parts of Maharashtra’s historic legacy with several iconic locations that are expected to feature in the production of the film.
Before the work begins on this grand historical saga, Rishab Shetty will complete his Jai Hanuman directed by Prashanth Varma. He portrays Lord Hanuman in the film. Following the phenomenal success of Kantara and its prequel, Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1, Rishab Shetty is now gearing up for one of the biggest and largest ever ambitious projects of his career in films. It promises a spectacular tribute to one of India’s greatest heroes.
