Yash Raj Films is gearing up to enter in a new exciting cinematic space. It will produce its first ever horror film with Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan in as the leading actor in the much-anticipated project. The iconic production house is known for delivering blockbuster films across with action, romance, comedy, thrillers and spy dramas. The production house is now expanding its creativity and going for new horizon to venture into the horror genre for the first time. 


The ambitious film will be directed by the much-acclaimed Abhay Pannu known for his praised worth web series, Rocket Boys. Abhay Pannu has written the screen play and the project is expected to go on floors later this year and will arrive in cinemas in 2027.

After the success of Sui Dhaaga, the project is strategically backed by Akshaye Widhani while Aditya Chopra will continue to steer the studio’s vision by exploring fresh storytelling to the new cinematic genre. Varun Dhawan has officially been signed as the lead actor marking his second collaboration with Yash Raj Films. 


YRF or the Yash Raj Films has for now explored almost every major genre over the years and the horror genre being the only notable exception which will be fulfilled with this upcoming project with the banner’s most significant creative venture. 


The project will also mark Abhay Pannu’s theatrical directorial debut to further strengthen the YRF reputation for supporting talented young filmmakers with unique creativity.  Following the successful projects led by directors like Mohit Suri and Sameer Saxena, the studio continues to encourage and invest in the fresh storytelling that will resonate with the modern younger audience. 


The theatrical release is slated for 2027. The makers promise it to be a landmark moment for both the actor as well as the production house as YRF steps into the world of horror for the very first time.
