Famous Kamalistan Studio, To Be Auctioned Off

Kamal Amrohi Studio aka Kamalistan Studio, has been the home of many blockbuster Bollywood movies like Pakeezah in 1972, Amar Akbar Anthony in 1977 and Razia Sultan in 1983, among others. Screenwriter and popular filmmaker Kamal Amrohi founded the studio in 1958 and has produced a plethora of films since then.

 

After the famous RK studios, which is 71 years old, this is the second studio to be rehabilitated into a commercial property. In 2010, however, a portion of the studio was sold by Kamal’s three sons to builders; namely DB Realty and the Luthrias.
