The re-release of the movie ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ has sparked a sense of hope for a sequel. But the film’s main lead actor, Harshvardhan Rane, has ‘declined’ to return to the film even if the cast is repeated amid the India-Pakistan tensions. Despite the film’s critically acclaimed success, its quite unclear that the film’s sequel will proceed on without him.
The romantic drama ‘Sanam Teri Kasam,’ starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, found a sudden buzz when the makers re-released the film in theatres on 7th February, 2025. The film turned out to be a massive success and made a lot more money in it just two days as compared to its release in the year 2016.

Harshvardhan Rane’s Take On Film’s Sequel
The actor took to his Instagram handle to share his perspective about the film, ‘While I am grateful for the experience however as things stand, and after reading the direct comments made about my country, I have made a decision to respectfully decline to be a part of Sanam Teri Kasam’s sequel, even if the makers arrange the previous cast.’ This response by Harshvardhan Rane arrived amid the tensions between India and Pakistan.
