Popular Marathi actress Gauri Nalawade who impressed everyone with her brilliant performance in Chaitanya Tamhane’s - ‘The Disciple’ has another ace up her sleeve. The actress will be seen in filmmaker Nikhil Mahajan's film ‘Godavari’, essaying the role of Gautami. Talking of her experience the actress stated, “It is a very heart-touching film. It is a mixture of every emotion. I am playing the character of Gautami, (Jitendra Joshi's wife) in the film. When Nikhil informed me about my role, I was not sure whether I will able to pull this off. But Nikhil had a faith in me, so we also did a workshop.”

The Adham actress praised actor-producer Jitendra Joshi for following safety protocols and said, “The production made sure that we have done the RT-PCR test. We were made to feel safe on the sets because of their commitment to safety and hygiene. Jitu made sure that everything in the surrounding is neat and clean. We were also asked to take tablets of Vitamin C and Vitamin D regularly. I think nobody does this, and nobody takes this much care. There was a doctor on the set who was always available for us. It was an amazing experience.”

Speaking about her character Gauri said, “Gautami is a very responsible woman. She knows what she wants. She is very attentive, sensitive and knows when to react and when to not. She consoles her husband and supports him at every step. She is a very strong woman and that is the hardest part because I am very sensitive.”
