Bollywood actress Vidya Balan has always played interesting female oriented characters that have somehow broken biases of sorts. The actress will soon be seen in another thrilling film Jalsa where she will play the role of a journalist whose job is put in jeopardy with a serious dilemma at hand. The film also stars Shefali Shah who will be collaborating with the Sherni actress for the first time.

Speaking of her role in the film Vidya stated, “When Suresh narrated the script to me for the first time, I loved it! However, I was like I can’t do it as it needed guts.” She agreed at the second narration and added, “Pandemic mein sab change hua. Suresh said he has changed the story. So, I read it again and I was like... I am on! I have had the good fortune of playing beautiful characters throughout my career. This time I was willing to embrace the grey in me.”

Vidya has only admiration for her co-star Shefali Shah. She reminds us that they have worked together briefly in a TV show. She said, “Acting is about reacting, but there is only one Shefali Shah. I have seen her perform earlier on in my career. I faced camera with her in a TV show. I don't think she remembers. It was my first ever TV show and I was mesmerised watching her perform on camera. Since then I have been following her work. It is an absolute honour to share screen space with her.” Jalsa is a Suresh Triveni’s directorial and will stream on Amazon Prime Video from 18th March 2022.
