The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2022 has been the talk of town ever since it was announced. The festival is the only one that represents Indian Films out of India and is supported by the Australian government. Celebs like Taapsee Pannu, Shefali Shah, Abhishek Bachchan and Tamannaah Bhatia, among others kicked off the celebrations on 12th August. 

Other well known Bollywood and film personalities who graced the occasion in Australia included filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, Aparna Sen, Shoojit Sircar, and Kabir Khan, among others. Speaking at the event Abhishek said, “I'm looking forward to watching 'Dobaaraa'. My almost entire family has represented India here and I'm very proud of it. I'm looking forward to being part of all the celebrations and I thank the government and Mitu for having me here. It feels great to be given the Leadership in Cinema award.” 

Anurag Kashyap’s Dobaaraa starring Taapsee Pannu will be the opening night film at IFFM 2022.
