The cinematic world is abuzz as director SS Rajamouli, fresh from the
global triumph of RRR, announces a new monumental project — “Made In India”, a
multilingual biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, the pioneer who started Indian
filmmaking. Adding to the excitement, sources reveal that Jr NTR is in early
talks to portray the iconic role of Phalke, marking a historic shift in his
filmography.

Jr NTR, celebrated for his magnetic screen presence and mass appeal, may soon
take on one of the most iconic and culturally significant roles in Indian film
history. This potential collaboration reunites him with Rajamouli, with whom he
delivered box-office blockbusters like RRR, Yamadonga, and Simhadri. If
finalized, this role would showcase a more restrained, emotional, and layered
side of the superstar, allowing him to break away from his mass-action persona.
SS Rajamouli, presenting the film, has handed over the directorial reins to
National Award-winning filmmaker Nitin Kakkar. The film is co-produced by SS
Karthikeya (Rajamouli's son) under the Showing Business banner, alongside Varun
Gupta of MaxStudios. The ace director shared his heartfelt connection to the
story, saying, “When I heard the narration, it moved me deeply. Telling the
story of the Father of Indian Cinema is not just ambitious, it’s emotional.”
Made In India aims to be a landmark tribute, tracing the journey of Phalke, who
brought Raja Harishchandra to life in 1913. The film will be released in six
major Indian languages — Hindi, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada
— ensuring it reaches audiences across the country and beyond.
With a legendary story, a visionary filmmaker, and a powerhouse actor
potentially coming together, Made In India is shaping up to be one of the most
awaited Indian films. If Jr NTR joins the project, it could mark a new chapter
in Indian cinema, blending history, passion, and performance on a grand scale.
