The much-awaited action thriller Spirit directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga is again making headlines with the exit of Deepika Padukone from the project and Katrina Kaif being considered for the crucial role alongside Prabhas and Triptii Dimri. 


The ongoing speculations is with Katrina Kaif in talks with the director for her role, brief yet a very impactful character in the film.   It is reportedly to influence the storyline in a big way and will mark as a surprise element of the film though the name is revealed, the makers have kept the storyline under wraps.  However, Katrina Kaif is yet to confirm on this new development. 


It will mark Katrina Kaif’s return to Telugu films after 20 years.


The actress was last seen in Telugu films with Venkatesh in Malliswari and in Allari Pidugu opposite Nandamuri Balakrishna.  In recent years, Katrina Kaif has kept a low profile after her marriage to Vicky Kaushal and the birth of her child.  


The rumours of Katrina Kaif being cast in the film, ‘Spirit’ after Deepika Padukone reportedly exited from the project. While the makers haven’t revealed the reason, media claims it was over disagreements over remuneration and working conditions that led to her exit.   It is believed Deepika had sought a fee of Rs. 25 crores along with a share of the film’s profit besides a strict eight-hour work schedule that she had requested for.  These claims however are not verified. Deepika nor the production team have addressed the issues in public. 


Following Deepika’s exit from the film, Triptii Dimri has been announced as the female lead opposite Prabhas.   


For now, Spirit remains purely speculative with fans having to wait for an official announcement to know their favourite Katrina Kaif is indeed set to become a part of the most anticipated Pan-India films.
