National Award-winning filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar began filming The Wives in Mumbai on July 8, 2025. Bhandarkar began his 16th directorial project by filming the muhurat shot which he shared on social media platforms.
The Wives features Sonali Kulkarni, Mouni Roy, Regina Cassandra, Rahul Bhatt, Saurabh Sachdeva, Arjan Bajwa and Freddy Daruwala as lead actors.
The film presents the secret lives of Bollywood wives through an exploration of fame together with scandals and gossip alongside emotional endurance. Bhandarkar explained that this film has been a dream project from the beginning, which has taken time to develop before its official launch.
The Wives marks the second collaboration between Bhandarkar Entertainment and PJ Motion Pictures following their work together on India Lockdown. Bhandarkar intends to use his signature combination of glamour with grounded storytelling to expose the emotional realities that exist behind celebrity life's glitz. This includes some amazing people as cast, Sonali Kulkarni, Mouni Roy, Regina Cassandra, Rahul Bhatt, Saurabh Sachdeva, Arjan Bajwa, and Freddy Daruwala
