In a sad turn of events for Marathi cinema, popular filmmaker-lyricist Pranit Kulkarni passed away on 17th May 2021, following a prolonged illness. He had made his directorial debut with the film Deool Band, which was also co-directed by Pravin Tarde. He had also written lyrics for the song ‘Ararara’ in films like Mulshi Pattern. His passing has left a huge void in the Marathi film world. His friends, family and fans expressed their grief over this tragic news and paid their respects.

 

Filmmaker Pravin Tarde shared the sad news on his social media account and wrote, “My Pranit Dada is gone.. If I start writing about lyricist, writer, director Praneet Kulkarni, the day won't end..”Our heartfelt condolences are with the family to bear this great loss.
