Rani
Mukerji as the fearless cop, Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 3, has attracted a
modest run with the gritty narrative and her strong performance in the intense
thriller. It marked a respectable performance amidst stiff competition at the
theatres.
The
first week saw Mardaani 3 finish at approximately Rs 26.30 crore in India alone
as the film entered into the second weekend the early estimate suggested a day
to day earning that saw a jump on its 9th day of release taking it
forward to over Rs. 30 crore.
While
it’s the franchise of Mardaani, that has also built a loyal fan following over
the years for the film as well as Rani Mukerji, the third installment has a
stiff competition with the other big releases around the same time like Border
2 which has dominated the ticket windows in the recent week. Therefore, has
faced a modest comparison with some big budget titles that reflects as one of
the most successful series of crime dramas with a female led content driven
cinema which is a trend that is steadily growing over the recent years.
Mardaani
2 was the highest grossing film in the list to date.
