National Award-Winning Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui All Set To Expand His Cinematic Journey With His Punjabi Cinema Debut

National Award-Winning actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all set to enter in Punjabi films with his debut in Gippy Grewal’s Production house.  An actor who is known for delivering some of the most powerful performances in Indian cinema, this new project marks yet another milestone in his career in films.  He has so far been successful without language barriers with his much-acclaimed performances in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu cinema.   While the most recent Punjabi film is still under wraps and the makers are yet to share more details, but the theatrical release is later this year. 

The hunt for the female lead opposite Nawazuddin is still on. 

Rumours of Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa will star opposite Nawazuddin. Fans were anticipating and excited to see the fresh on-screen pairing. However, the production house has now put the rumours to rest and revealed that Sonam will not be a part of the film and the search is on for the female lead which is still underway. 

The sources also revealed that the film’s genre and more details have been kept strictly under wraps regarding the star cast and other details which the makers will share soon.

Meanwhile Nawazuddin has steadily expanded his presence beyond Bollywood in the recent years.  He made his Tamil film debut with Petta in 2019 in which he portrayed as ruthless gangster opposite the superstar Rajinikanth. He also emerged in Telegu cinema with Saindhav released in 2024 sharing the screen space with Venkatesh Daggubati. 

With his remarkable versatility, Nawazuddin has had an exciting career in films with his fearless choice of roles. Audience is now excited to watch him in Tumbbad 2, Section 108 and Sangeen in 2026. Looks like 2026 has proved to be his busiest year in films and yet another feather in his cap is his debut in Punjabi cinema.
