'OMG 2' Box Office Collection Film Is Back In Race After Independence Day Weekend

The movie "OMG 2," features popular actors Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam. On Tuesday, coinciding with India's Independence Day celebration 'OMG 2' box office collection had taken a jump. The film not only outperformed its opening day’s box office collection but also made a significant impact by earning a remarkable Rs 18.50 crore. With the movie's total earnings now standing at Rs 72.27 crore, there's growing anticipation that it might soon surpass the coveted Rs 100 crore box office collection milestone by the upcoming weekend.


Although "OMG 2" faced a slow start, collecting only Rs 10.26 crore(OMG 2 box office collection Day 1) on its debut at the box office on Friday, the tides turned as positive word-of-mouth spread. This led to a gradual increase in audience interest, which was reflected in the weekend numbers of the 'OMG 2' box office collection. The movie earned Rs 15.3 crore(OMG 2 box office collection Day 2) on Saturday and an even higher Rs 17.55 crore (OMG 2 box office collection Day 3) on Sunday. Surprisingly, the film's performance on its first Monday was stronger than its opening day, generating Rs 12.06 crore(OMG 2 box office collection Day 4) in earnings.


The release of "Gadar 2," an action-packed movie, coincided with "OMG 2," creating an interesting competition. Additionally, the film "Jailer," starring Rajinikanth, also entered the race which made 210 crore in 6 days on the Indian box office. Whereas Gadar 2 box office collection stands strong at 228 crore on day 5. These three films showcased their spirit during the Independence Day long weekend.


Directed by Amit Rai, "OMG 2" is the sequel to a highly appreciated original ‘OMG’ that gained popularity among audiences. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh remarked on the film's rising popularity, evident in its robust box office performance. He shared his insight on social media, stating, "Sure, #OMG is a brand, but the love #OMG2 is getting is reflecting in its #BO numbers… This franchise has only enhanced its status in the eyes and hearts of moviegoers."


Notably, the Multiplex Association of India and the Producers Guild of India celebrated a significant achievement on Monday. The combined weekend release of "OMG 2," "Gadar 2," and "Jailer" set a new all-time box office record, marking a historic moment in India's century-old cinematic history. This accomplishment serves as a much-needed boost for the film industry, which faced numerous challenges since 2020 due to the pandemic-induced shutdowns. Even after reopening, theatres struggled to regain their footing. The current success suggests a promising turnaround at the box office, indicating that the industry's challenging times might finally be subsiding.


In total  'OMG 2' movie box office collection has summed up  72.27 crore and as per speculations of experts is all set to enter the 100 crore club. With positive reviews and responses from the audience now OMG 2 is riding fast on the box office.
